Well truthfully I think I could have been a lot of things. Yet, I had a calling to try and make a positive impact on the United States. What determines the life of man? Is it the monuments we leave for self glorification or is it the lives we pulled out of the valley along the way?

The British general Lord Cornwallis had pulled out of the South and made hastily for York Town to be replenished with fresh troops and gun powered.

The letter arrived in the hands of the French Admiral Comte De Grasse who unbeknownst to Washington had a soft spot for the ideals of the American cause. Washington put the outcome of the Revolution in the hands of a stranger and pleaded for assistance.

The most important navel battle of the American Revolution was fought off the coast of York town without a single American.

By the time the British realized de Grasse was targeting their sails 2/3rds of the British armada sent to rescue Cornwallis was dead in the water. The largest Naval battle of the American Revolution was fought and won without a single ship being sunk. The French king later sent a apology to king George III acknowledging that it was in fact a pretty low blow to target the sails.
